Fire Update

The "Hardy" fire has consumed about 400 acres, but thankfully no homes have been lost. The fire has stayed South of us and no additional evacuations have been issued, but are neighborhood is still on stand-by. I'm keeping the 72-hr kits near the door, but I think we may be safe.

But on the other side of the freeway, another wildfire started today on Hwy 89, and has consumed 3000 acres so far. This one is farther away from us, but there is a lot of smoke and it's blowing our direction, so we're getting that lovely "camp-fire" smell coming from 2 directions.

And as a side-note, I put reminders on my computer calendar to pop up every 6-months to check the status of our supplies, clothing, etc. No more being caught unprepared for me - at least regarding our 72-hr kit . . . I'm not making promises for anything else ;)
